Participants must pass a prerequisite swimming test on the first day of class 12/21/24: swim 150 yards without stopping (goggles allowed) on your front; swim 20 yards, surface dive and retrieve a 10lb brick, return to starting point under 1:40 (goggles not allowed); tread water for 2 minutes without using arms. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a 2-year certification for Lifeguard Training, First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and one-year certification for Blood-borne Pathogens.
