Land and Facilities
The Evergreen Park & Recreation District owns over 75 acres of parkland on 15 different parcels and partners with various other agencies in the management of approximately 180 additional acres on 7 additional parcels. Components of the Evergreen Park and Recreation District's managed park property include:

The Evergreen Park & Recreation District (EPRD) has comprehensive Park Rules and Regulations
1. Daily Park Hours: EPRD managed parks are open for public use from one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset unless otherwise permitted by EPRD.
2. Pets: All pets must be on a leash and under physical control on EPRD managed lands. “Leash” means a strap, cord or chain, not to exceed ten (10) feet in length and held by the pet owner. Pet owners must pick-up pet waste and dispose of it properly in waste receptacles.
3. Parking: It is prohibited to park vehicles, bicycles or trailers on EPRD managed lands where prohibited or in a manner that creates a hazard or obstructs vehicular, pedestrian, or bicycle traffic or damages natural resources. It is prohibited for a vehicle and/or trailer to be parked in a handicapped parking space on EPRD managed lands unless said vehicle and/or trailer displays a valid State-issued handicapped license plate or tag. It is prohibited to park any vehicle and/or trailer overnight on EPRD managed lands unless specifically permitted by EPRD.
4. Grills: It is prohibited to use charcoal grills at EPRD parks. Propane grills must be a minimum of 24” off the ground. It is prohibited to place grills on the picnic tables.
5. Fires: It is prohibited to build, start, light, or maintain any fire of any nature on EPRD managed lands except in gas grills. It is prohibited to burn any material in a careless manner, or to leave a gas grill unattended, or to fail to completely extinguish a gas grill on EPRD managed lands, or to violate the conditions of an imposed fire ban.
6. Camping: It is prohibited to camp overnight, or to park any vehicle, trailer, or camper for overnight camping purposes, on EPRD managed lands.
7. Canopies and Tents: Unless specifically approved by EPRD, no tents or canopies are allowed in EPRD managed parks, including along the shoreline or trail of Evergreen Lake. To protect underground irrigation lines the staking of approved tents and canopies is prohibited; weights, including water, lead, and sand are allowed.
8. Swimming/Boating: Unless specifically approved by EPRD, it is prohibited to swim or boat in, or to float upon by the use of any floatation device, any waters on EPRD managed lands where posted.
9. Prohibited Activities: Unless specifically approved by EPRD, prohibited items and activities at the Parks and Fields include: remote controlled airplanes, drones, helicopters and any other remote controlled aircraft, fireworks, golf, horseback riding (with the exception of existing trail linkages), hot air balloons, circuses, carnivals, and similar commercial activities, or other activities deemed by the District to be a danger to patrons or damaging to property.
10. Prohibited Items: Unless specifically approved by EPRD, all weapons, including but not limited to knives, firearms, bow and arrows, and martial arts weapons. Exception: Law Enforcement/Park Rangers.
11. Marijuana & Alcohol: Consumption of marijuana on District property is strictly prohibited. Alcohol may be served provided it complies with all State liquor laws. Beer must be served in cans or from a keg in plastic cups. Sale of alcohol is prohibited unless specifically approved by EPRD and proper permits for such sale are secured through Jefferson County. Refer to the EPRD Alcohol and Marijuana Policy for additional detail.
12. Disposal of Waste Materials: Trash must be properly disposed of in dumpsters or trash barrels. Recyclable materials should be placed in recycle bins where available.
13. Glass Bottles/Containers: Glass bottles and containers are prohibited in all parks & fields.
14. Vehicular Access: Motorized vehicles on any EPRD managed park property, lawn, turf, restricted roadway, bicycle/pedestrian pathway, turf trail, or athletic field is prohibited.
15. Signage: Signs, banners, decorations and similar items may only be displayed with prior approval of EPRD staff. All such signage, banners or decorations must be taken down at the end of the event or activity.
16. Admission: It is prohibited to charge admission or gate charges unless specifically approved by EPRD.
17. Sale of Goods and Services / Commercial Activity: It is prohibited to conduct any commercial or concession activities, or to provide any service, product or activity for which a fee is charged, on EPRD managed lands except when a valid EPRD permit is issued.
18. Closed Areas: It is prohibited to enter, use or occupy EPRD managed lands, or any portion thereof, when such lands, or any portion thereof, are closed to entry, use, or occupancy.
19. Unlawful Improvements: It is prohibited to construct, place or maintain any kind of road, trail, structure, fence, enclosure, communication equipment or other improvements on EPRD managed lands.
20. Abandoned Property: It is prohibited to leave any personal property, including vehicles, unattended on EPRD managed lands in excess of 24 hours unless specifically authorized by EPRD staff.
21. Dumping: It is prohibited to deposit or leave any refuse, trash, landscaping debris, yard waste, or any other materials on EPRD managed lands.
22. Posted Notices: It is prohibited to violate any posted signs or EPRD regulations.
23. Interferences: It is prohibited to interfere or attempt to interfere with any State of Colorado, Jefferson County, City and County of Denver, or EPRD employee, while in the performance of their official duties on EPRD managed lands, or to give false or misleading information with the intent to mislead said person in the performance of their duties.
24. Hazardous Activity: It is prohibited for any person to engage in any activity on EPRD managed lands that constitutes a hazard to the safety of self or other persons.
25. Wildlife Protection: It is prohibited for any person, or any pet under their custody, control or ownership to harass, chase, harm, capture, trap, kill, maim or possess any wildlife including but not limited to mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians on EPRD managed lands. It is prohibited for any person, or any pet under their custody, control or ownership, to damage, destroy, remove or in any other way vandalize wildlife habitat features on EPRD managed lands, including but not limited to, animals, dens, burrows, dwellings, or nests.
26. Fishing: Any person fishing on EPRD managed lands or occupying EPRD managed lands, with the intent to fish must comply with the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Rules and Regulations regarding fishing, which are hereby adopted in their entirety, as amended by the Colorado Division of Wildlife.
27. Feeding Wildlife: It is prohibited to feed, or attempt to feed, any wildlife on EPRD managed lands.
28. Releasing Wildlife: It is prohibited to release any wildlife or domesticated animal on EPRD managed lands.
29. Natural Resources Protection: It is prohibited to enter EPRD managed lands when such land is posted as a sensitive area, seasonal closure, wildlife protection closure, or refuge.
30. Destruction of Natural/Cultural Resources: It is prohibited to remove, deface, damage, or in any other way vandalize any vegetation, rock, or any object of archaeological, biological, geological, or historical interest on EPRD managed lands.
31. Damage to Property/Vandalism: It is prohibited to remove, destroy, deface, damage, or in any other way vandalize any amenity, facility, building, structure, poster, sign, marker on EPRD managed lands.
32. Amplified Sound: Any person at EPRD managed park locations must adhere to the Jefferson County Regulatory Policy on Noise Abatement. No outdoor amplified sound is allowed at Alderfer Picnic Pavilions & Meadow Area or Marshdale Park & Athletic Fields due to their unique geographic settings. Amplified sound may be allowed at these sites if approved by EPRD through a Park Permit on a case-by-case basis.
33. Smoking: It is prohibited to smoke at Wulf Park, Alderfer Picnic Pavilions & Meadow Area and Alderfer Barn. It is prohibited to smoke within 25 feet of all playgrounds, athletic field perimeters and bleachers, skate parks, and park shelters on EPRD managed lands.
34. Metal Detecting: It is prohibited to use metal detecting devices on EPRD managed lands without prior approval by EPRD’s Park Operations Manager or Executive Director.
If you are interested in reserving a park shelter for a party or other event, please call our Park Operations Support at 720-880-1015 or email Joey Purmort regarding information about applying for a District Park Permit. Park permits are required for groups of 25 or more and suggested for any size group in order to reserve the space for your next picnic, party or event. We also offer 30-foot by 30-foot tents, a 16-foot by 20-foot mobile stage, and tables and chairs for rent at select locations.
