MTB 101 - Introduction to Mountain Biking

Want to try out mountain biking, but not sure how to start?
Mountain Bike 101 is the perfect class for absolute beginners looking to build confidence and learn the basics in a fun, supportive environment.
In this class, you'll learn:
- The fundamentals of setting up your bike
- Basic braking and shifting techniques
- Proper body positioning for balance and stability
- Trail etiquette and rules to ride responsibly
- Required Equipment:
- Mountain bike in good working condition
- Mountain bikes have wider (over 2”) tires with knobby treads and flat wide handlebars
- Your bike should shift, break, and the tires should hold air
- Recommended features include a suspension fork, disc brakes, and a dropper seat post
- Helmet
- Backpack, hip pack or bottle cages/pockets for water, food, and clothing.
- Mountain bike in good working condition
This class will meet at the Wulf Rec Center parking lot near tennis courts.
When: May 10, 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM
