[ARCHIVED] EPRD Re-Opening Week of June 15 (with restrictions)

EPRD ReOpening Playbook_COVER_NewsFlash

Update June 13, 2020:

We are excited to announce we are re-opening with restrictions on Monday, June 15. There is a lot of information to absorb, so we have tried to make some easy reference documents for you to review right here on the website. We have a Re-Opening Playbook where we plan to have three different stages as we cautiously re-open our facilities and activities. We have a quick reference sheet to see the status of many activities and an FAQ sheet. Many of these changes will be temporary, but necessary for now. We are excited to have you back! This will be different for all of us, so please be patient as we all try to get through this together! Everything is subject to change especially if CO or Jefferson County Health Orders change, but check out what we have planned starting the week of June 15. Go to Community Announcement Page

Update June 4, 2020:

Private Boating at Evergreen Lake Opens Saturday, June 6. Private boats require reservations and a day pass prior to launching. Private boaters will be limited to 50 per day to adhere to social distancing. There will be a daily fee of $10/day Monday through Friday and $15/day Saturday and Sunday. No season passes will be available for the 2020 season. These fees help to ensure boaters are taking proper safety measures before launching. Starting Saturday, June 6, reservations can be made 48 hours in advance. Reservations for Private Boating

Update May 16, 2020:

While our main facilities are still closed to the public, we plan to re-open some facilities and programs on a rolling, staged/phased-in approach. Based on this re-opening approach, we are excited to announce a few EPRD activities will be opening on May 18 (tentative) with restrictions:

  • Pickleball/Tennis Courts - Courts will be open Mon - Sun, 8 AM - 3 PM. Reservations will be required. No more than 4 people per court. Those waiting to play should remain outside the court until it is your time. Reservations for Pickleball & Tennis Courts
  • EPRD Fields - These are still limited to a maximum of 10 people. Reservations are required. Reservations for Fields
  • Skatepark - The skatepark at Wulf Rec Center will be open. Participants must follow social distancing guidelines.

While our EPRD parks are open for recreation, please remember our playgrounds are still closed to the public. The majority of outdoor restrooms will remain closed.

Update April 24, 2020:

At this time, we do not have a date when EPRD will open, so facilities, playgrounds, skatepark, and outdoor courts are closed until further notice.

Update March 26, 2020:

Due to Stay-At-Home Order, all playgrounds, skatepark, and outdoor tennis/pickleball courts along with any outdoor restrooms are closed effective Thursday, March 26.

Update March 20, 2020:

In compliance with Governor Polis’ updated order, EPRD facilities will be closed through April 30.  Our new anticipated opening date will be Friday, May 1.

Update March 19, 2020:

In compliance with Governor Polis’ recent statewide order, EPRD facilities will be closed through April 17.  Our new anticipated opening date will be Saturday, April 18.

March 13, 2020:

Starting Monday, March 16, Evergreen Park & Recreation District (EPRD) will be closing all facilities (BPRC, WRC, Evergreen Lake House, EPRD Admin Office, and Park Operations) to the public.  This means all classes, public meetings, programs, including Spring Break camps are cancelled/postponed during this time.  We are working to reschedule programs to the best of our ability and will contact those participants when plans are finalized.

With this unprecedented health situation, EPRD is being proactive and following along with the school district to create social distancing and prevent community transmission.  There have been NO confirmed COVID-19 cases at EPRD.  During this closure, EPRD staff will be taking this time to deep clean our facilities so we will be ready to go when we re-open.  Our anticipated opening date will be Monday, March 30.  We will provide any updates on our website.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding during this time.

Ellen O’Connor, Executive Director, EPRD

Board of Directors, EPRD
