YOUTH DANCE
Does your child like to dance? If fun and high energy is your child's preference - check out Hip Hop and Tap. Or maybe the beauty of ballet is more your child's style. No matter the form of dance, we allow her/him to do what she/he loves from basic dance skills to competitive performance team. Evergreen Park & Recreation District's dance is done in partnership with Evergreen Dance Center.
You must first contact the Evergreen Dance Center before enrolling online. Contact via phone at 303-670-7221 or by emailing the Center to get your dancer placed into class.

Advanced Musical Theater (13 to 18 Years)
Class combines jazz technique with other varieties to create a “Broadway” style of dance. Teacher placement/approval required.

Pre-Ballet (3.6 to 5 Years)
Introductory ballet and creative movement. Exceptions at teacher’s discretion.
Ballet 1 (5 to 7 Years)
Introductory ballet and creative movement. Classical ballet foundation.
Ballet 2 (6 to 8 Years)
Beginning ballet. Classical ballet foundation.
Ballet 3 (8 to 10 Years)
Beginning/Intermediate ballet. Classical ballet foundation.
Ballet 4 (10 to 16 Years)
This ballet class runs twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays, teaching intermediate/advanced ballet technique. Teacher placement/approval.
Ballet 5 / Pointe (13 to 18 Years)
This ballet class runs twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays, teaching advanced ballet and pointe technique. Teacher placement/approval.

Modern dance is based on natural, expressive, and sequential movements. Dancers will express a broad range of emotions through various qualities of movement. Improvisation, creative movement, and basic technique is incorporated into Modern Dance.

Performance Team (10 to 18 Years)
Offers students the opportunity to gain additional performance and competition experience. Must audition to be a part of the team. The class will be held at Wulf Recreation Center.

Tap 1 (6 to 10 Years)
Beginning tap rhythms and fundamentals.
Tap 2 (10 to 16 Years)
Intermediate tap rhythm and fundamentals.
Tap 3 (14 to 18 Years)
Advanced Tap technique and fundamentals. Teacher placement/approval.

Teaches intermediate-advanced turns and jump techniques. Can be taken on a monthly basis. Non-recital choreography will be taught in this class.

Register for Turns and Leaps Dance Class - NOT OFFERED for Winter/Spring 2023
This one-day dance intensive is for advanced dancers ages 12 and up with previous dance experience. Dancers will experience back-to-back classes in ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, tap, and more.

Register Online for Advanced Summer Intensive - - NOT OFFERED FOR SUMMER 2023
The Evergreen Dance Center Program starts in September and runs through the end of May. Classes are continuous, but new students are welcome any time during the year. You must first contact the Evergreen Dance Center before enrolling online. Contact via phone at 303-670-7221 or by emailing the Center to get your dancer placed into class.
An annual registration fee of $25 is due in September or at the time of registration. All continuing students must register each year. Monthly tuition must be paid in full on the first of every month. No late registration will be accepted.
Proper class attire for our various dance classes is as follows:
- All Classes: Hair must be worn up, away from the face
- Ballet: Pink ballet slippers, pink tights, and leotards.
- Jazz: Tan-colored jazz shoes, leotard, and tights or yoga pants of any color
- Lyrical/Modern: Leotard and tights or jazz pants and fitted top, socks, or bare feet
- Tap: Black tap shoes, dance pants, or leotards and tights.
